Food-coatings

Keeping it nice and clean.

Apart from machine constructors, the food processing industry is also eager to purchase 3D printed parts from Parts On Demand. For packing, picking, transporting – you name it.

But what about the regulations? The FDA 21 CFR or EC1935/2004, for example? Rest assured. Our standard Nylon PA12 material is fully certified.

Maybe you want an extra coating? To keep the parts clean and sealed, for example. Or to color them blue in a food-proof manner.

We’ve thought of that too! We apply a coating, which forms a protective layer and seals pores in the material.

Need to knows for your design:

Max. dimensions

250 x 250 x 500 mm or 250 x 250 x 250 mm, depending on applicable standards

Pay attention to

Cavities in your model. Coating cannot be applied to cavities.

Influence on dimensions

100 um to 300 um on the surface of your model

Production time

Minimum of five additional working days

POD’s tips

Have a chat with one of our engineers to discuss your application. We can make heads and tails!

Do you have any burning questions?

It may be true that 3D printing hasn’t been used as long for production as turning, milling or injection molding. As an engineer, maybe you don’t really have that ‘feel’ with printed parts yet. And you are not confident about how 3D printed products hold up in your machines. We fully understand that! And we will help ease your mind.

So: do you have a 3D printed application in mind? Use a 3D printed part and taste the pudding? See if it will hold up? Then contact Neil for a free sample. On the house!
